A Specialist Manufacturer of Plastic Threaded Rod
The nylon threaded rod from Bluemay is crafted using nylon 6.6, renowned for its robustness and exceptional qualities among engineering plastics.
Nylon threaded rods offer a noteworthy balance between strength and weight. Their exceptional load-bearing capability, despite their lightweight nature, makes them a perfect choice for industries where weight plays a vital role, including aerospace and automotive sectors. Moreover, nylon threaded rods are non-conductive, which is particularly beneficial for electrical applications where safety is a top priority. Their resistance to corrosion guarantees durability, even in challenging environmental conditions. Our nylon threaded rods exhibit resilience in temperatures as low as -30oC.
Additionally, alternatives include polypropylene and acetal materials. Standard options encompass isometric coarse threads conforming to DIN 975 specifications.
What are Nylon Threaded Rods?
Isometric coarse threads to DIN 975: M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12, M16 and M20.
Also available in Imperial BSW, BSF, BSP size from ¼” to 1″ and in American UNC, UNF size from ¼” to 1″.

Our threaded rod comes in standard meter-length (39") sections but can be conveniently tailored to your specifications. If needed, we also offer studs in your preferred lengths, with the minimum starting at 50mm. For requirements exceeding one meter, we're equipped to accommodate longer lengths through custom orders.
Every nylon 66 rod undergoes meticulous inspection to detect any signs of cracks or inclusions, ensuring an impeccable quality standard. The raw material undergoes comprehensive testing and is subjected to more stringent controls compared to typical commercial nylon grades.

Nylon Threaded Rod FAQs
A nylon threaded rod is a type of fastener made from nylon, a strong and durable synthetic polymer. It has threads along its entire length, allowing nuts and other fasteners to be screwed onto it easily. These rods are known for their high mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and electrical insulation properties. They are also referred to as all-threads, studding, or booker rods.
Nylon threaded rods are available in a variety of metric and imperial sizes. Common metric sizes range from M3 to M30, while imperial sizes range from 1/4" to 1". They typically come in lengths of 1 meter (metric) or 3 feet (imperial).
Nylon threaded rods are used in various applications due to their versatility and durability:
- Construction: For stabilizing structures and fastening components.
- Manufacturing: As components in machinery and equipment.
- Automotive: For non-conductive and corrosion-resistant fastenings.
- Plumbing: In applications where corrosion resistance is critical.
- Marine: In environments exposed to moisture and salt where metal fasteners would corrode.
Nylon threaded rods offer several advantages:
- Corrosion Resistance: Unlike metal rods, nylon rods do not corrode when exposed to moisture or chemicals.
- Electrical Insulation: Nylon provides excellent electrical insulation, making it ideal for use in electrical and electronic applications.
- Lightweight: Nylon is significantly lighter than metal, which can be beneficial in applications where weight is a concern.
- Impact Resistance: Nylon rods have good impact resistance and can withstand significant stress without breaking.
Yes, nylon threaded rods are suitable for outdoor use due to their resistance to moisture, UV radiation, and various chemicals. However, they should be used within their specified temperature and load limits to ensure longevity and performance.
Nylon threaded rods can be easily cut to the required length using standard cutting tools such as hacksaws or rotary cutters. After cutting, it is recommended to smooth the edges to prevent fraying and ensure that nuts can be threaded on easily.
While nylon threaded rods offer many benefits, they do have some limitations:
- Temperature Sensitivity: Nylon can soften or deform at high temperatures, so it should not be used in high-heat environments.
- Load Bearing: Although strong, nylon rods do not have the same load-bearing capacity as metal rods, so they may not be suitable for very high-stress applications.
